Thick and deeply carved are both side pillars and each pillar has vertically aligned niche-style panels that contribute to the richness of the front elevation. The back panel is wide and simple which helps to keep the focus in the shrine space. The platform area is big and a little raised which makes an organized placement possible. The lower base has three broad storage panels of which the center panel is marked with a geometric sacred pattern while the side panels have carved bird motifs that keep up with the symmetry. The fine detailing also runs along the bottom skirting which gives the mandap a solid and complete finish. The natural wood grain is very much a part of the surface and the brown color is seen again on the lower and upper edges which gives the mandap its traditional and powerful presence.
