Nivya Pooja Mandap

The Nivya Teak Wood Mandap in brown shade, a large temple that occupies a considerable area, displays the traditional concept of design being strong and well-proportioned with a grand horizontal layout. There is a top structure having layered steps with exquisite floral carving and small dome-shaped elements located at equal intervals on the crown. The upper edge has detailed carved borders and hanging-style wooden detailing that creates a three-dimensional effect in the front view. The open prayer area is supported by two robust side pillars, which also make the whole structure visually stable. The back panel is smooth and wide, which helps to keep the focus on the idols that are placed inside. The platform is large and a bit elevated, which allows for an organized arrangement of items. The bottom part of the structure consists of three storage units with carved frames and decorated doors, each with its own motif. The central door is ornate with a symmetrical pattern while the side doors are skillfully carved in figure style, and thus, character is added to them. The base is large and embellished with carved borders that extend across the entire width of the structure. The teak wood construction reveals the natural grain patterns and offers enduring strength. The color brown reappears at the crown and at the base, thus, completing the rich and traditional appearance of this Mandap.

Gently dust your teak furniture with a soft, dry cloth each week. Wipe it very lightly with a barely-damp cloth when needed and dry immediately. A thin coat of bees-wax or teak-oil polish twice a year will replenish the wood's natural oils. Keep the unit away from standing water, harsh chemicals and prolonged direct sunlight to preserve its colour and prevent warping.
